Knitted ribbons in an unpredictable pattern are transformed into a wrapping for found and discarded school chairs. In a sheltered workplace the different marbled ribbons, made of recycled (jeans) yarns, are assembled into a teeming ensemble. Durable, socially responsible and aesthetic at the same time. The result is an endless choice of colours, fabrics, chair legs and combinations.
This prototype is designed together with ONBETAALBAAR, a workspace who aims bringing new life into old materials. Based on the analysis of our waste stream, prototypes are being designed and developed, with a view of producing locally.
